Most people are aware that there are more cats and dogs being born than there are people willing to adopt them, but the actual number of unwanted animals is staggering.
Did you know that one female dog and her offspring could produce 67,000 puppies in six years? For every human born, seven puppies and kittens are born. Millions of dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens are abandoned in rural and urban areas each year, and millions more are euthanized in shelters.
You can be a part of the solution to the overpopulation problem by spaying and neutering your pets. The Cashiers-Highlands Humane Society has a program to subsidize the cost of these procedures through our spay-neuter coupons. We will pay:
- $55.00 for a canine spay
- $40.00 for a canine neuter
- $45.00 for a feline spay
- $25.00 for a feline neuter.
You simply present the coupon to the veterinarian of your choice for the procedure, and the veterinarian mails the coupon to us with an invoice for payment. You are responsible for any charges in excess of the value of the coupon.
