Bringing People & Pets Together

CHHS brings people and pets together by reaching out to local schoolchildren with Humane Education programs teaching responsible pet ownership and the importance of spay/neuter, and brightening the days and lifting the spirits of elderly citizens in our community with Pet Therapy and visitation. For more than a quarter-century, the Cashiers-Highlands Humane Society has rescued, provided compassionate care, and found forever homes for thousands of abandoned and neglected animals. Established in 1987, CHHS is a private 501(c)(3)(Federal Tax ID: 58-1798769) not-for-profit animal welfare no-kill shelter. We receive no federal, state, or county tax dollars, and no funding from any national animal organization.
