My foster pet may not be fully house broken and I understand that accidents could occur in my home.

My foster pet could chew or scratch my furniture or other personal belongings. I am comfortable working with this behavior and understand that CHHS is not responsible for any damage.

I agree to keep my foster dog on a leash, in my home, or in a fenced area at all times. I agree to keep my foster cat indoors at all times.

I will not take my foster pet to the veterinarian or administer medications without the prior approval of CHHS Shelter Manager. I understand that if I take my foster pet to the veterinarian without prior approval, that I will NOT be reimbursed for any costs.

I understand that CHHS does their best to establish a good fit with my foster pet but my own personal animals could be harmed if there should be an altercation between them and my foster pet. CHHS will not be held responsible for the medical treatment of my personal pets.

I understand that CHHS is still the legal guardian of my foster pet and they will have the final authority regarding the animal’s medical care and adoption.

I will not leave my foster pet in the care of another person, including potential adopters, without the prior approval of CHHS Shelter Manager.

As a foster parent with Cashiers-Highlands Humane Society, it is imperative that you have communication with the Shelter Manager. You will be given the shelter number, cell number, and email address of Shelter Manager in case there is an emergency with your foster pet. Photos of the animal in your home are always welcomed via email. You will have priority if you should choose to adopt the animal you are fostering.
